Import DXF/DWG

DXF and DWG can be used for reading shape data created using other CADs.
This can be used in different way such as for applying Drawing Frames and tracing other CAD schematics.

Compatible Formats

The following versions are compatible DXF and DWG formats.

 DXF ascii (R9, R10, R12, R13, R14, R15, R18, R21, R24, R27)
 DXF binary (R10, R12, R13, R14, R15, R18, R21, R24, R27)
 DWG (R12, R13, R14, R15, R18, R21, R24, R27)

Reading DXF/DWG Data

This is the method for reading DXF data or DWG data when applying a Drawing Frame used by another CAD and when tracing schematics.

Reading DXF/DWG Data
(1) [File]
=> [Import]
=> [Import DXF/DWG]
=> The "Import DXF/DWG" screen will open.
(2) Click "..." next to Import File => The "Open" screen will appear.
(3) Select a DXF file.
(4) Click "OK".
(5) Click "OK".
  The DXF data will be read.


Import DXF/DWG Screen

Item Description

Import File

Specifies the DXF/DWG file to be read.


Specifies the Unit for DXF/DWG import. Set the same Unit as for Export DXF/DWG.

Line Width

Specifies the Line Width of lines for DXF/DWG import. (Only the Default Line Width will be applied.)

Import Layout

Select "*MODEL_SPACE" or "*PAPER_SPACE" for layout block.
Set the same setting as for Export DXF/DWG.


Displays the layer specified in the read DXF/DWG file as a list.


Determines whether to read the imported DXF/DXG by Origin Point alignment or to read using the mouse manual placement.
