Extra: Drawing Dimensions

With Quadcept, it is possible to automatically create footprint dimensions for when creating footprints and designing PCBs.

If the automatically created dimensions are not sufficient, you can add them manually. Refer to Dimensions.

Drawing Dimensions
This is a function for automatically creating component dimensions.
Using this function, dimensions are automatically created for component pad size, pad interval, and "Assembly" of the final outline.
(1) Select [Create PCB]
=> [Create Component Dimension Automatically]
=> The "Create Dimension Automatically" screen will open.
(2) Configure each setting and then click "OK"
  Dimensions will be created automatically.

Auto creation of dimensions is also possible when multiple footprints are selected on the PCB screen.
When multiple and different shapes are selected, auto creation will only be performed for the target location.


Layer Settings
Item Content

Layer

Sets the layer that is the reference for creating dimensions.

Pad Dimension Settings
Item Content

Layer Type

Selects the layer where the pad dimensions are created.

Pad Diameter Dimension

Selects whether to show Pad Diameter Dimension.

Pad Distance Dimension

Selects whether to show Pad Distance Dimension. Select either "Inside Distance", "Center Distance", or "Outer Distance".

Total Pad Width Dimension Line

Selects whether to show overall pad dimension. Select either "Inside Distance", "Center Distance", or "Outer Distance".

Pad Diagonal Distance Dimension

Selects whether to show the dimension for when there is a pad on the opposite face. Select either "Inside Distance", "Center Distance", or "Outer Distance".

Assembly Dimension Settings

Layer Type

Selects the layer where the assembly dimensions are created.

Assembly Dimension

You can select either "Silk + Pad", "Assembly Layer Object", or "Assembly Area" for the target object.
Selects whether to show the Assembly Dimension.
* For "Silk + Pad", dimensions are shown in the area that is automatically created from the silk or pad.
   For "Assembly Layer Object", dimensions are shown in the maximum outline area of the Assembly Layer Object excluding the Assembly Area object.
   For "Assembly Area", dimensions are shown in the maximum outline area of the Assembly Area object.
